Stunning performance from Sylvian and associated musicians. I've really enjoyed his more electronic outings of recent times (well 10 years or more) and parts of this gig highlight them fantastically.
He gets some sweet sounds from that Nord Synthesizer. This concert reminds me of the more subdued outings by Coil, under their Timemachines guise.

Couple Of Great Auteurs Live Concerts
Here's a quickie whilst I'm on a sickie....
Couple of great Auteurs live shows - 'Black Sessions' is a French radio show from 1996 that had a limited unofficial release (2500 CDr's I think I saw somewhere), and the 'No Dialogue With Cunts' is a live freebie from 1999 given away a while ago two tracks at a time on Luke Haines website.

Julian Cope Live - Camden Cumming 16th February 2006
In the interest of actually posting at least one thing this month, I've trawled the archive for another live Julian Cope set. This is from the heart of his 'metal' phase several years ago, but don't let that put you off, as it's a pretty entertaining show, with a great career spanning tracklist. Not a bad recording, sound wise either.
This was another of those Head Heritage forum swaps that the generous folk in those parts are won't to do, and the artwork for this one is by Black Sheep's very own Common Era if I'm not mistaken.
If you think this may be your kind of thang, you can listen to Disc 1 Here and Disc 2 Here

Thighpaulsandra - Live Dublin, May 2005
Found this lurking on my hard drive and thought I'd post it up for your musical edification.
I'm a big fan of Thipe's crazy avant-prog, and this is one of the few occasions he's ventured out live on his own.
I found a review of his debut gig at the Arts Cafe in London, maaaan,I wish I'd witnessed that night.
Those flamboyant costumes have me sold, that's for sure.
Thipe's been quiet for the last few years, though I hear tell rumblings over on Head Heritage that there may be a new release shortly.
Here's some patchy information about the man himself. from Wiki and his official website
And here's some 'Synth Porn' from his home studio, Mmmmmm.
Apologies for the scratchy pic from the Dublin gig, and a couple from the Arts Cafe even too.

Coil - A Couple Of Outstanding Gigs.
I still greatly miss the esoteric outpourings of Balance, Christopherson, Thighpaulsandra and associates.
Since 1985 they have been my 'occult' eye, guiding me into hitherto unknown territories of music and magick or wild obsidian nightmares and obtuse teachings. I've met some great people along the way, and swapped and traded many a 'rare' disc or live show with wonderful and generous people from all walks of life, all sharing my obsession, living scattered lives across the globe.
There really has been nobody to step up and fill their boots, nobody gives me quite the thrill Coil gave me, whether it was a new recording, or the chance to catch them 'live'. There was always something very special about their approach. The efforts were often never less than astounding, they could like as not often be baffling and obtuse, often for it's own sake. Always keeping one step ahead of the pack, they seemed to take a perverse joy in wrong footing fans and critics alike, releasing almost unlistenable 'Power Electronics' after softly lulling us with beautific ambient Drones. Albums were wrapped up in their own occluded meanings forcing the listener to return time and again to unpick the coded ciphers and coda's of the music or lyrics. They always kept you guessing, you could never be sure what they were up to. They saw no shame in being elitist, with some releases being either incredibly limited and therefore hard to come by, hence the 'swapsies', or unfeasibly expensive, often with artifacts or artworks done by band members themselves. As I said, I still miss them, and if you do to, here's a couple of great shows. The'Barbian - Play Festival is one I recorded myself, the other ended up as part of the 'Live' series, I think it was ''Live Four - Prague and Vienna' , but don't quote me on that.

Julian Cope - Royal Festival Hall - 21 01 2005
Found another great quality Cope gig from 2005. There were 2 sets, one a little shorter than the other, but both well worth your time for a listen. Unfortunately a couple of the longer tracks refuse to extract on the second disc. Never mind, it's all good! I'll post what I've got for now and try and rectify that second set later.

Mission Of Burma - Live Academy 2, Birmingham, August 2004
This is a corker of a gig. Great sound, and a wonderful atmosphere. This was from Mission of Burma's 'come back' tour supporting the great 'On Off On' album.
Not much else to say. Premier post punk band reform and do killer set, with ALL ya favourite songs too. Wunderbar!

Julian Cope - Live Edinburgh Festival 25/08/2002
This is a great double disc solo concert by the Arch Drude himself sent to me by a23 from HH many years ago.
It has a great selection of songs spanning Cope's career, with a good chunk from the 20 Mothers, Jehovahkill and the first Braindonor album. This show was the second night of his two appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe and has some hilarious stage banter from the man himself. I'm sure I have the gig of the 24th as well, but that may take some digging about to find. Anyhow, hope you enjoy.

Julian Cope - Live Liverpool Uni 27th October 2003
Here's a great gig from 2003 from the Copester, pretty good sound quality for an audience recording.
Nice mix of Braindonor material and earlier stuff. The tracks from 'St. Julian' get a full metal overhaul which works surprisingly well considering it was his great short haired pop comeback. There's also one track, 'Shrine Of The Black Youth' from the 'Rome Wasn't Burned In A Day' Tour CD. All in all, one of the better Cope gigs I've been to.I've split the concert into 2 discs and edited it for audience noise, have a listen Here.

More Old Bootlegs - Liars Live Manchester Roadhouse 5th May 2004
Seem to have turned up a small cash of concerts that i attended a few years ago. I'm a massive fan of Liars, so thought I'd share this with you. It's from the European tour supporting their second album 'They Were Wrong So We Drowned'. Not sure what the last track is called, though i seem to recall Angus called it 'Southern Uric Acid' at the time. Don't think it ever developed beyond a jam, I don't recognise it from later releases, but if you know better, let me know. You can hear it Here.
Setlist for the night was...
Here's a small 'review' of the night if found.
"Liars songs are raw and unapproachable; unstructured compared to anything we have come to expect from conventional music and melodically vacant. Vocalist Agnus Andrew sings with an ominous monotone, pronouncing syllables in time with drum beats like a shaman reciting a prayer or a spell. But though Liars' music differs from that of The Blood Brothers, their performance is as intriguing. Dressed like a mad man on ket, Agnus Andrew collapses around the stage in a three-quarter-length matron’s uniform featuring the shakily written slogan, 'Weapons of ASS Destruction', on the back. He does well to jump into the ceiling and not fall into seizure. Or perhaps this crazy dancing _is_ his seizure. However crazy this may be, the underlying charisma makes you love it; watching this man is fun.
At times it is questionable if Liars are really pushing boundaries in music or just taking the piss. Songs become so extended that once stimulating repetitive drums become annoyingly drawn-out and dull. Where the Blood Brothers were giving and exuberant, Liars seems self-indulgent and pretentious. In theory, Liars' fresh take on avant-garde music is formidable, but commercially, it's just not Busted."
Not sure I agree with his views, but as the landed gent character from the Fast Show says " I was very, very Drunk!"

A few Old Broadcast gigs and Suicide Show.
Am still greatly saddened by the sad loss of Trish Keenan of Broadcast. Whilst rummaging around my CD shelves I came across a few live shows a that Charlie H sent me ways back. Thought as it's my first posting, I'd share em' with the wider world.
First concert is a great show recorded at Birmingham's 'Sanctuary' Club in December 2003.
It's pretty good quality and you can find it .... Here
Second recording was a great gig from Vancouver on the 30th October 2003 sent to me by a good friend from Canada. It's at a small venue called Richard's On Richard, Another with great sound. I've half an idea it was a radio broadcast, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Think this is available elsewhere on the web, but if not, you can get it Here
The final Broadcast post is a little know song called 'Misc' released on a freebie cassette tape from the NME in 1997 celebrating Oxford Sound City. I was disappointed when this didn't turn up on Future Crayon, but this recording is pretty good quality in a Microtronics fashion. Get it Here
Finally, i turned out this mad concert by Suicide recorded at Camden Palace on 30th October 1986. It has some pretty intense sound, but Alan Vega seems in good spirits. Sound is very hissy as It's from a 15 year old cassette, but as their isn't much top end, i left it as is. Track listing may not be right, but hey, it's the sounds your after! Get it Here
